I just realized that it has been almost a month since my last journal update. Well, there have been some good reasons!
I thought that I would me more free during summer, but it turns out that I've just been more active with my friends and therefore away from home and art. In general, that is why I have been seemingly distant for a while.
A few other things are happening right now, too. I am trying to find a new place to live since my lease runs out next month. This also means that I will be moving a week after my 23rd birthday, in the middle of my finals week for summer classes. Uh oh.
Also, my car got broken into last week. I was parked in my private-access apartment garage, and my doors were locked. Someone got access to it somehow (a neighbor probably left the locked doors open or had an untrustworthy friend over). They jimmied the lock and made off with my stereo system and a few other miscellaneous items. This was in the middle of a huge crime spree in my neighborhood - at least 10 cars broken into within one week on my block. But my car was the only one that wasn't parked on the street or a public access zone. Also, the other car windows were smashed, and they all had stereos AND Gps systems - My window was left in tact (thankfully) and I did not have a GPS. So there is obviously more than one criminal doing this.
In any case, now my window has a permanent rattle / whistle / draft because the seal is broken where they broke through, and I have a gaping hole in my dashboard where I can look in and see the guts of my car. It was making me really sad, so I decided to fix it! :3 First, my friend helped me put all the pieces that had broken off my A/C controllers back together so it doesn't look as terrible.
Then we made my car a little face. No joke. It's actually pretty funny, and now I laugh a little bit when I see it. Basically, we made the hole where my stereo used to be into a mouth. As soon as I can, I will take a picture of it and share it with the world!
The other news I had is that yesterday I participated in my very first collab with ~
PiccolaRia in `
emmil's little journal game from last week. I did the lineart, and ~
PiccolaRia did the coloring. The final piece is here:
[link] Lol. It makes me laugh. I may upload it to my gallery within the next few days with a better explanation of the game. the uncolored lineart is in my scraps, along with another version that isn't as funny.
Have a fantastic day!
