Into the Aether

Description

I am fascinated with stars and constellations. I often look into the sky and wish I could see all the wonders beyond. . .into the Æther.

This is something I actually did last year, as part of a bigger series. However, it was my favorite and thus, my first upload. I actually took the picture of the clouds from the roof of my apartment building. The rest was photoshop CS3.

This was definitely an interesting, original and creatively-thought out piece in my opinion. It was interesting, layering in the nebula into the skies as a gradient.

However, i thought that while the clouds really were quite the bomb, especially the bottom left ones, I felt that the area of the bottom right could have been worked on a lot better.

It seems that the clouds were quite overexposed in that area.

What i think could be done, perhaps, would be to touch up the gradients of the overexposed side and give it the same saturation as the clouds on the left would be a good improvement.

Since this is a photomanipulation piece as well, I guess it wouldn't hurt to clone some of the clouds or even find another cloud stock to add to this piece to create that mysterious spacy feeling.

The nebula could also be brought a little closer and larger to take up the empty spaces in the middle if you wish to create a greater feeling of deep space voyage from down-up.
